Live call transcription for Android

Read a phone or WhatsApp call as it happens, then keep a searchable record of what was said.

TalkSage shows the conversation line by line during a call. It separates speakers, saves the transcript with the recording on your phone, and can summarize decisions and next steps after the call. You can tap a word in a saved transcript to replay that part of the audio.

How to transcribe a call

  1. Install TalkSage on Android and follow its setup to install the free TalkSage Helper.
  2. Allow the recording permissions and choose whether to save calls automatically.
  3. During a supported phone or VoIP call, open the live transcript. Read each line while the call continues.
  4. After the call, search the transcript, replay a word, or read the AI summary.

The Helper detects phone calls and calling apps including WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal and Viber. You can also transcribe a meeting with the microphone or import an existing audio file. See what the Helper does.

What you get from a transcript

  • Live text: follow the conversation without taking notes.
  • Speaker labels: see who said each line and rename speakers later.
  • Search and replay: find a name, number or promise and check the audio.
  • Summary: review decisions, dates and next steps after the call.

Phone compatibility and privacy

Android audio capture differs between phones and calling apps. On some phones, only your side may be captured unless you use the speaker; Bluetooth calls may not be captured. Check the call troubleshooting guide before relying on a transcript for an important conversation.

Recordings and transcripts are encrypted on your phone. Audio is streamed to a speech-recognition provider for transcription. Tell the other person before recording and check the rules that apply where you both are. Read the privacy policy.
